Rapid Radios
Designed for value and exceptional performance with a robust underlying core that is engineered for integration. Rapid delivers world-class digital radio technology and is a perfect fit for mission critical applications. The company claims these walkie-talkies will work even if cell networks fail in the event of a disaster. However, they don’t provide proof of this. Rapid is a high-speed Instant Group and individual voice communication solution that delivers superior quality levels not available through alternatives. Features a full fleet management (Dispatcher) suite and an intuitive display/user interface. Software & data are securely hosted on selected AWS platforms providing the highest levels of system uptime, security and quality.
One of the most mysterious phenomena in the universe is the fast radio burst (FRB) signal, which astronomers first recorded in 2007. These millisecond pulses continue to baffle astronomers and have very unusual pulse dispersion measurements, much larger than would be expected from a source inside our Milky Way galaxy. The company claims that their radios work in areas where cellular networks are dead. But they don’t offer an explanation for this claim or provide a video to prove it. They also charge an annual subscription and have a large upfront cost. It’s unclear if there are any monthly fees for this device.
The benefits of using a rapid radios include the ability to communicate quickly and easily with others. This can be especially useful in emergencies or when a business needs to quickly get information out to employees. The radios are also extremely easy to use, making them ideal for children and elderly people. In addition to the RapidRadio framework reducing the knowledge-base required for receiver deployment, the system provides a number of productivity-enhancing features that reduce the time it takes to create a new receiver. These include a framework for determining if a signal is synchronized, and a simple way to import running orders from NPR’s MetaPub and Composer services.

What Are Rapid Radios?
Additionally, the radios offer a high level of digital audio quality that is superior to traditional two-way radio communications. This means that the radios can transmit data at lightning speeds, and offer incredible voice clarity, even well beyond the line of sight. The radios are also completely encrypted, providing unparalleled security and safety. Rapid Radios do have a large upfront cost. They claim to have no monthly fee but they do have a $50 per radio (per year) service fee that they roll into the purchase. They claim that this allows them to add a secondary comms fail safe after your cell phone when it goes down during an EMP or natural disaster as they can jump across carriers.
Unlike a normal walkie talkie these can have high speed instant group and individual voice communications at broadband quality levels. They also can have a feature rich dispatcher suite. They can be used as a primary communication system or in addition to existing systems such as commercial or HAM radio. They will also be able to be used for a variety of science applications such as measuring geospace phenomena, precision measurements of solar and Jovian radio bursts or imaging lightning. These will require specific rapid radios and a more complex setup.
Rapid provides world-class digital radio technology with unsurpassed data speed, voice clarity and reach, beyond line of sight. It delivers instant group and one-to-one communication at broadband quality levels — all on a secure, private network with no inherent architecture limitations on group or fleet size.
Software and data are securely hosted on selected AWS cloud services ensuring highest levels of system uptime and security. Simple user interface for managing content on-air. Easily identify incoming feeds and outgoing outputs and view status and metadata of music tracks. Create weekly templates for regular programming and override them with one-off special events. Import show and segment metadata directly from NPR’s MetaPub and Composer services.
The company claims their walkie-talkies work nationwide with no monthly fee. However, they don’t answer the question about whether they will work when cellular networks are down due to a global disaster or the zombie apocalypse. They just say they depend on cell carriers so “they will still work.” It would be more responsible for them to say that their walkie-talkies won’t work if there is no cellular service at all.
